We were delighted to hear that Bloomsbury won a Special Achievement Award for Exporting at the London Bookfair.  The special Nibbie was awarded by Activair as a result of the outstanding work they had done in exporting Harry Potter around the world.   They gave a special thank you to "MDL’s wonderful export team, in particular Kate Renwick".

Persephone Books recently announced they would be reissuing their most popular titles in partnership with PanMacmillan, and MDL will be distributing these titles.  Until now Persephone has sold its titles, reprinted classics by 20th-century writers, entirely through its mail order business and its central London shop.  The Persephone Classics will be a paperback list, rejacketed from the publisher’s trademark grey design to a new full-colour look.  The books are also designed to lie flat when open: a unique feature for British paperbacks.

Were you ready for E-day?  1 May 2008 was designated as E-day by the book industry. By this date it was hoped that all transactions between trading partners within the UK and Ireland would be carried out electronically.  Not only is this a more efficient way of trading, but it also has a major impact on our collective carbon footprint.  Electronic transactions are quicker, more accurate and often cheaper than traditional alternatives. The industry offers a number of ways for customers to trade electronically, many of which are free to the customer.  Read more information on how to join the e4books revolution, and how to streamline your own processes which provides all the alternatives currently available. Also see the e4books website.

We were joined on 1 March by CRW Publishing who specialise in classics, and who publish the Collector's Library and Essential Thinkers series.
